I NEED HELP WITH THIS ASPA!!
Answer:
Cultural diversity is the existence, within a society, of different racial, religious and ethnic groups, as well as other groups that do not share the same values and lifestyles. Therefeore, cultural diversity, also known as cultural pluralism, implies acceptance and respect for these differences, not assimilation into a dominant culture. In other words, cultural diversity is an analogue of biodiversity, marking linguistic, cultural and traditional diversity as a counterweight to global monoculture.
Read the passage from "By the Waters of Babylon.”
But it was not dark. Everywhere there were lights—lines of light—circles and blurs of light—ten thousand torches would not have been the same. The sky itself was alight—you could barely see the stars for the glow in the sky. I thought to myself "This is strong magic" and trembled. There was a roaring in my ears like the rushing of rivers. Then my eyes grew used to the light and my ears to the sound. I knew that I was seeing the city as it had been when the gods were alive.
That was a sight indeed—yes, that was a sight: I could not have seen it in the body—my body would have died. Everywhere went the gods, on foot and in chariots—there were gods beyond number and counting and their chariots blocked the streets. They had turned night to day for their pleasure—they did not sleep with the sun. The noise of their coming and going was the noise of the many waters. It was magic what they could do—it was magic what they did.
Which details from the text best support the analysis that the narrator is in awe of the city at night? Select three options.
“But it was not dark. Everywhere there were lights.”

“That was a sight indeed—yes, that was a sight: I could not have seen it in the body—my body would have died.”
“Everywhere went the gods, on foot and in chariots.”

++Say no to tanning. There's no such thing as a safe tan, whether you're inside or outside. It's a myth that indoor tanning is a safer alternative to sun tanning. Tanning beds, tanning booths, and sunlamps expose you to intense UV radiation, which increases your risk of skin cancer and skin damage.
++Give up the vitamin D excuse. Tanning isn't a safe way to get vitamin D. If you're concerned about your vitamin D levels, talk to your doctor about the sources that are best for you.
++Get to know your skin. Skin cancer is easier to treat when caught early, so get to know your skin and watch for changes.

Read and write the answer to the given question below...
People have been trying for centuries to prove that aliens exist. But no one has yet been able to do it. Therefore, aliens do not exist. { highlight text = herefore, aliens do not exist. }
1. Which of the following logical fallacies does the author commit upon concluding that "Aliens do not exist"?
a) Begging the question, present in an argument in which the arguer asks his or her opponent to simply accept a conclusion absent any real evidence; the argument either relies on a premise that says the same thing as the conclusion (commonly referred to as “being circular” or “circular reasoning”) or simply ignores an important (but questionable) assumption that the argument rests on.
b) Appeal to ignorance, present in an argument in which the arguer relies on the supposition that, due to a lack of conclusive evidence, the conclusion of an argument should be accepted.
c) Ad populum, present in an argument in which the arguer takes advantage of the desire most people have to be liked and to fit in with others, using that desire to try to get the audience to accept his or her argument.
d) False dichotomy, present in an argument in which the arguer makes it look as though the answer to a question admits of only two alternatives (one that is logical and one that is illogical), when, in reality, there are multiple undisclosed options available.
e) Appeal to Fear, present in an argument in which the arguer relies on the instillation of fear in the opponent, rather than the presentation of evidence, to support a claim. (Also known as a “scare tactic”.)
Answer:
B, appeal to ignorance
Explanation:
The author is concluding that since no concrete proof of aliens exists. aliens themselves cannot exist. However, a lack of evidence is not proof of NO evidence

I'm about 95% sure I got the 4 mistakes (I tried making them bold and underlined to stand out)! I want to explain the usage of colons/semi-colons though to help you in the future.
Colons are usually used in place of a dash (-) and can be used for listing items or noting them. I think the last sentence is a perfect example of that. Notice how "folding bikes" is being noted as "the answer." This would be the perfect place to put a colon, therefore: "... if space is an issue then technology has the answer: folding bikes."
Semi-colons are used as a break in a sentence. Sometimes people use it as a "period" to continue two thoughts in a sentence that go together, but are different enough to where they need a break in between. Semi-colons are also used many times before words like "therefore" or "however." I'm sure there's a list out there, but those two were the first to come to mind.
I hope this helps! :)

the quotient of 30 and the difference of 12 and 6
Answer:
The quotient of 30 and the difference of 12 and 6 is equal to 5.
Explanation:
In this problem, three number are given i.e. 30, 12 and 6.
We need to write the value of the quotient of 30 and the difference of 12 and 6.
The difference of 12 and 6 is 6.
Quotient means to divide i.e. we will divide 30 by 6.
So,
30/6 = 5
So, the quotient of 30 and the difference of 12 and 6 is equal to 5.
Answer:
[tex]\frac{30}{12-6}[/tex]
Step-by-step explanation:
Step 1: Determine the correct expression
So we know for sure that we will be doing 12 - 6 because we have the part where it says the difference of 12 and 6. Looking back at the statement we can see that the quotient of 30 and the rest which means that 30 would be the numerator and located at the top.
Answer: [tex]\frac{30}{12-6}[/tex]

Hope my answer is helpful to youREAD THE COMPREHENSION GIVEN BELOW AND ANSWER THE QUESTION...
the school principal is considering whether or not to open the study center before school starts. Below is an argument for why this should be done.
The school’s study center should be available for student use before school as well as in the afternoon. Some students are dropped off before school starts and must wait outside until the doors are unlocked. Instead, students could be studying in the center during that time. It certainly is safer inside the school than it is outside. Also, opening the center early would allow students to get out of the cold. Then students could have a little fun before school starts.
1. Which reason to open the center before school starts will be LEAST likely to convince the principal?
a) Students could study instead of just waiting outside.
b) Students would be safer inside than they are outside.
c) Students could have a little fun before school starts.
d) Students would have a place to get out of the cold.

Paragraph 5
Volcanic eruptions are among the most terrifying and dramatic forces in nature. Lava flows usually burn or bury everything
in their path, and the flows can continue for miles and miles. Suffocating ash flows a mix of hot gases, pumice, rock
fragments, and bits of glass can also accompany an eruption. Debris flows are especially treacherous. Water from lakes or
rivers, heavy rain, or melting snow can cause debris on the flanks of a volcano to form into a fast-moving "mudflow" of
rock, ash, and cinders. These flows can occur with little warning, and a wall of mud can cover an entire city, claiming
thousands of victims before they can react.
Which of the following words does NOT contribute to the mood of this paragraph?
a. Terrifying
C. Debris
b. Treacherous
d. Victims
Define cultural diversity. How diverse is the state of Minnesota? What are some different cultural groups that live in Minnesota? Do you interact with people from any cultural groups different than your own? If so, who are they?"
Answer:
Cultural diversity is the variety of cultures within a specific region, or in the world as a whole. The degree of cultural diversity within a region or society can be derived from the degree of presence of people from different ethnic-cultural backgrounds.
There is scientific consensus among anthropologists that humans originated in Africa about two million years ago. Since that time, man has successfully spread around the world, adapting to different conditions, such as the climate. The many separate societies that have sprung up around the world were very different from each other and many of these differences still exist today. In addition to the striking cultural differences that exist, such as language, dress and traditions, there is also significant diversity in the ways in which societies organize themselves, in their shared values and norms and in the ways in which they interact with their environment.

How does Douglass best use rhetoric to advance his purpose in this excerpt?
He uses a rhetorical question to heavily emphasize the fact that he deserves freedom.
He uses a rhetorical question because he is unsure of his beliefs.
He repeats words in order to share his beliefs with the readers.
He repeats the word free to show the reader his point.
Answer:
A) He uses a rhetorical question to heavily emphasize the fact that he deserves freedom.
Explanation:
Rhetorical questions refer to questions asked to establish a dramatic effect or present a side/perspective rather than get a response. In the given excerpt, the speaker used a rhetorical question to highlight his belief that he ACTUALLY deserves freedom. He is not unsure of the idea, rather, he is emphasizing that he deserves it because freedom is supposed to be a right, not a choice.

An English friend wants to learn your language. Write a letter detailing your experience of language learning, and explain what you think is the best way to go about it.
Answer:
Hundreds of languages are now available to learn at home, with different costs and methods. The courses themselves act as teachers and determine the way in which teaching takes place. In many cases, they help the learning process with sound recordings, improving post-hearing comprehension. These recordings are spoken by people whose mother tongue is their language, so students can hear live speech without an accent and develop their post-hearing comprehension and pronunciation. During some recordings, longer or shorter breaks are also included so that the learner can repeat what they have heard. In addition, there are those that are continuous, and the learner can speak in parallel with the recording.
With the help of software, interactivity is realized, which books and audio recordings cannot produce, so they definitely represent a new level of self-taught language learning. For example, applications have the ability to record a learner's speech, analyze its pronunciation, and provide feedback. It is also possible for the program to add additional tasks from the types that are more difficult for the user to go through.
