Help with the landlady creative writing
Answer:
Dear Journal,
I have only arrived here yesterday, and the first Thing I noticed was her attitude towards me. She seems to friendly. And I also noticed her red fingernails. I also found some entries from other people. They didn't seem familiar to me, But I wanted to check the entries out anyways. The sweet lady had caught me looking at the pictures of the boys who had been here before. I had asked about them, but she told me her experience with them. I wonder, Why are these entries here? I mean if these people had left, they should've taken these with them right? Eh, they probably just forgot about them. They're also the same age as me, which was weird as Them being seventeen and I am also Seventeen. But some were older. So I guess it wasn't that weird. She had handed me tea to drink, But I'm not usually into tea, but I didn't want to seem rude, so I drank it. I also admired her red nails. I thought they were really pretty. She looked at me up and down before we reached her guest room. It felt kind of weird. But I didn't think much of it. Jesus what was in that tea? It tasted bitter, like almonds. But I think It did something to me. Hopefully this headache goes away. And this pencil feels so heavy..Maybe this will go better in the morning.

Excerpt from The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
Frederick Douglass
1 I was born in Tuckahoe, near Hillsborough, and about twelve miles from Easton, in Talbot county, Maryland. I have no accurate knowledge of my age, never having seen any authentic record containing it. By far the larger part of the slaves know as little of their ages as horses know of theirs, and it is the wish of most masters within my knowledge to keep their slaves thus ignorant. I do not remember to have ever met a slave who could tell of his birthday. They seldom come nearer to it than planting-time, harvest time, cherry-time, spring-time, or fall-time. A want of information concerning my own was a source of unhappiness to me even during childhood. The white children could tell their ages. I could not tell why I ought to be deprived of the same privilege. I was not allowed to make any inquiries of my master concerning it. He deemed all such inquiries on the part of a slave improper and impertinent, and evidence of a restless spirit. The nearest estimate I can give makes me now between twenty-seven and twenty-eight years of age. I come to this, from hearing my master say, some time during 1835, I was about seventeen years old.
Jerome has decided to use this passage as the basis for a class assignment. What is one way that he can create a fictional adaptation and still maintain the basic ideas?

affect the meaning of the passage?
A. It shows that Cassius thinks that Brutus is too optimistic.
B. It implies that Brutus would be willing to pay the price for
his actions.
C. It reveals that Brutus and Cassius regret killing Caesar.
D. It creates a greater sense of humiliation for the defeated.
Answer:
A. It shows that Cassius thinks that Brutus is too optimistic.
Explanation:
Shakespeare's use of triumph instead of victory in the excerpt in the passage affects its meaning because it shows that Cassius thinks Brutus is too optimistic, that is, Brutus expect they would win the war.
Cassius is trying to ask Brutus if he could face the humiliation of losing the battle and be led through the street of Time as trophy.
This means that there are two consequences of fighting a war, either to lose or to win.
Loosing means to be paraded as trophy and winning means to parade the losers as trophy.

The repetition of comparable vowel sounds, preceded and observed via way of means of exceptional consonants is called as assonance.
What is consonance ?
Both phrases are related to repetition—assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds and consonance is the repetition of consonant sounds—however those phrases (as they may be usually used) vary in three critical methods from the patterning of rhyme.
This is why many poets use assonance, consonance, and alliteration. The repetitive use of a vowel sound can create rhythm in a reader's thoughts and rhythm could make a line greater memorable.

Explain your own interpretation of the poem "Jabberwocky." What is the story that the poem is telling, in your own words?
Answer in 2-3 complete sentences. Use evidence from the poem in your answer.
In the first stanza of 'Jabberwocky' Carroll jumps right into the text using strange and nonsensical words. He describes the scene as “brillig” and filled with “slithy toves”. ... This word could reference a creature or some kind of plant. It sounds similar to another word “grove,” such as a grove of trees. All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. Consider Carroll's use of (invented) words in this stanza. ... Carroll is using both 'slithy' and 'mimsy' as portmanteau words: slithy, for example, is a blend of slimy + lithe, while mimsy suggests miserable + flimsy. In "Jabberwocky," Carroll uses nonsensical words throughout a typical ballad form to tell a tale of good versus evil, which culminates in the killing of the fearsome Jabberwock. “Brillig”: four o'clock in the afternoon — the time when you begin broiling things for dinner. “Slithy”: lithe and slimy. ' Lithe' is the same as 'active'. “Toves”: curious creatures that are something like badgers, something like lizards, and something like corkscrews.
