Answer:
Ancient Roman society changed out of all recognition as the Romans conquered first Italy and then the Mediterranean world, and the very notion of what it was to be a Roman came to embrace all the peoples of the empire.
As in all pre-modern societies the economic base of the Roman society at all stages of its history remained agriculture; but on top of this an ever-more elaborate social organization grew up, to create one of the largest and most complex societies in the pre-industrial world.

What did Jefferson describe as the "handmaid" of the American economy?
I think it's commerce, but it could be agriculture.
The 1814 blank which ended the war, merely affirmed the situation prevailing before the war began (the status quo antebellum). The treaty was silent on the issues of commercial rights that had led to war. When war between Britain and France ended in 1815, so did British interference with American shipping.
yes because British had war with France
The 1814 Treaty of Ghent ended the war between the United States and Britain, affirming the status quo before the war and not addressing the underlying issues that had led to the conflict.
The treaty did not specifically address the commercial rights that had been a cause of the war, but with the end of the war between Britain and France in 1815, British interference with American shipping also ceased.
This meant that the issues related to commercial rights were indirectly resolved by the broader peace between the major European powers. The Treaty of Ghent brought an end to the war and restored peace between the United States and Britain.

how APO and ANC led to the rise of nationalism
Answer:
General Louis Botha headed the first government of the new Union of South Africa, with General Jan Smuts as his deputy. Their South African National Party, later known as the South African Party (SAP), followed a generally pro-British, White-unity line. The creation of the Union of South Africa was quickly followed by the launch of two important political movements. One was the South African Native National Congress (later ANC) formed in 1912, and the other made up of more radical Boers who split away from the SAP under the leadership of General Barry Hertzog, forming the National Party (NP) in 1914.
Explanation:
Nationalism refers to an ideology, a form of culture, or a social movement that focuses on the nation. It emphasises the collective of a specific nation. As an ideology, nationalism holds that 'the people' in the doctrine of popular sovereignty is the nation. Nationalism ultimately is based on supporting one’s own nation. In the first two decades of Union (1910-1930), the Governments of Louis Botha, Jan Smuts, and J. B. Hertzog promulgated a barrage of discriminatory laws and regulations that tightened state control over Black people. The most important law passed was the Natives’ Land Act of 1913. This law reserved 93% (revised to 87% in 1936) of the land in South Africa for whites; it prevented Africans””two-thirds of the population at the time””from freely buying land. The small African ‘reserves’ created by the Land Act was a forerunner of the apartheid-era ‘Bantustans’ or ‘homelands.’ Denying the majority of South Africa's inhabitants, the right to own land had major socio-economic and political repercussions.
The Federalists dominated the first Congressional elections.

If you were a European leader during the Age of Imperialism, how would you approach your goal of expanding your empire? Describe 2–3 alternate solutions to this conflict. Decide which solution you would choose and list its advantages and disadvantages.
Answer:
If I were a European leader during the Age of Imperialism, I would attempt to approach my goal of expanding my empire through diplomacy. Much like the control the United States achieved over China through the Open Door Policy, I would try to secure a strong economic influence in the country/territory and create international agreements (which made other countries feel like they had huge influence) to secure my own interests there. Then, I would find a resource that said country/territory could not live without and become the sole provider of said resource. Then, the country would have no choice but to depend on my European power (wah haha). Basically, I would manipulate the country/territory I want into needing my power while making other international powers think that they have a good deal while in reality I have the economic spoils and they have only a little. By using diplomacy rather than force or "international bullying," I have not created much of a conflict. Instead, everyone is blissfully ignorant of the fact that my country has completely taken over. Therefore, this is the perfect solution with definitely no disadvantages.
