I need a sample for Police Brutality against People of Color
Answer:
Police brutality seems to be given a significant focus on the media platform when it involves people of colour, especially the younger men. Majorly it is stated that men of colour are perceived as "criminals" and they receive different treatment from law enforcement. This can be proved by the recent black lives matter march that was done globally to create awareness of the struggles of African-America young men. This has led to the male African-American male mortality rate to be higher than that of a white or Asian male in America. I would also argue that people of colour are also stereotyped as a result of how the majority of them conduct themselves in society.
The unfair treatment by members of law enforcement has led to the African-American male to feel intimidated by the presence of authority. It leads to fear as they think they will be judged or stereotyped even before they say the problem they are facing. I would also like to state that the unfair treatment from the police could be as a result of how most of them conduct themselves in society. Most African-American men are not interested in higher education, and this often leads to them finding it hard to get employment opportunities. This, in turn, leads to them joining gangs in their neighborhood where they get involved in gunfights. The level of theft is also high among black young men as they hold the largest position of the race that has been arrested, and that is in prison. It could also be as a result of the lousy culture in the law enforcement unit of stereotyping young black males by senior officers and the habit being picked by the junior officers.

Can other forms of parental figures (i.e., uncles, aunts, mentors, teachers, grandparents, etc.) impact and assist a child’s upbringing and identity formation? Why or why not?
Answer:How do very young children develop a sense of identity and belonging culturally, and how can this sense be supported by early care and education teachers and programs? This article examines literature associated with identity and belonging in early childhood and how those who work closely with children and families can incorporate best practices into daily routines and procedures. The authors share several practices from the A. Sophie Rogers School for Early Learning at The Ohio State University, a high-quality program serving children and families who are economically and culturally diverse.
Elizabeth is a 19-month-old toddler who attends our early care and education program full-day, full-year while her parents work. Her family, including siblings, primarily speak Spanish at home, as do several other of the schools’ students. As such, the school has made a concentrated effort to employ teachers who are native Spanish speakers or otherwise fluent in Spanish. When Elizabeth arrives for the day, she is greeted enthusiastically with phrases in Spanish and English from her peers and teachers. Spanish phrases and words make up the environmental print throughout the room. Laminated notecards are displayed prominently for all children and teachers to access; the cards contain phrases supplied by Elizabeth’s parents for commonly used routines and classroom rituals such as “Do you want to use the bathroom now or in 5 minutes? ¿Quieres usar el baño ahora o en cinco minutos?” and “We wash our hands before we eat. Nos lavamos las manos antes de comer.” Children frequently carry these card packs around the room to “read,” and teachers read them in English and Spanish and point to the words when providing one of the directives. Photos of all the children’s families, and of the teachers and their families, are displayed on the walls and in small frames throughout the classroom. Similarly, each child has a small photo album with photos supplied by families and/or taken by teachers at school of children’s families, friends, and pets. Children carry and use the photo albums throughout the day, often taking them from their display in a basket in the reading area to their cubbies and other personal spaces to review.
The Importance of Relationships
Erikson was among the first to examine how children’s sense of identity and character developed, and he proposed a stage theory to explain how young children and later adolescents and adults progress in life span development (McLeod, 2008). For children less than 36 months old, there are two stages identified by Erikson: Trust vs. Mistrust, which encompasses the first 18 months of life, followed by Autonomy vs. Doubt, which includes ages 18 to 36 months. Both stages are influenced heavily by the types of environments and support a very young child receives. During the Trust vs. Mistrust stage, infants learn whether they can trust that their needs will be met by caring and competent adults and caregivers; those whose needs are not consistently or adequately met will be insecurely attached and suffer later in developing secure and stable relationships. Similarly, in the Autonomy vs. Doubt stage, children begin to test their abilities and competencies; those who are supported and provided an opportunity to explore will grow to be industrious and independent. Children with overly controlling or anxious caregivers will not develop the fortitude to persevere and learn autonomously.

1911 THE MATCH There never was a time when the world was without fire, but there was a time when men did not know how to kindle fire; and after they learned how to kindle one, it was a long, long time before they learned how to kindle one easily. In these days we can kindle a fire without any trouble, because we can easily get a match; but we must remember that the match is one of the most wonderful things in the world, and that it took men thousands of years to learn how to make one. Let us learn the history of this familiar little object, the match. Fire was first given to man by nature itself. When a forest is set on fire by cinders from a neighboring volcano, or when a tree is set ablaze by a thunderbolt, we may say that nature strikes a match. In the early history of the world, nature had to kindle all the fires, for man by his own effort was unable to produce a spark. The first method, then, of getting fire for use was to light sticks of wood at a flame kindled by nature—by a volcano, perhaps, or by a stroke of lightning. These firebrands were carried to the home and used in kindling the fires there. The fire secured in this way was carefully guarded and was kept burning as long as possible. But the flame, however faithfully watched, would sometimes be extinguished. A sudden gust of wind or a sudden shower would put it out. Then a new firebrand would have to be secured, and this often meant a long journey and a deal of trouble. In 1827, John Walker, a druggist in a small English town, tipped a splint with sulphur, chlorate of potash, and sulphid of antimony, and rubbed it on sandpaper, and it burst into flame. The druggist had discovered the first friction-chemical match, the kind we use to-day. It is called friction-chemical because it is made by mixing certain chemicals together and rubbing them. Although Walker's match did not require the bottle of acid, nevertheless it was not a good one. It could be lighted only by hard rubbing, and it sputtered and threw fire in all directions. In a few years, however, phosphorus was substituted on the tip for antimony, and the change worked wonders. The match could now be lighted with very little rubbing, and it was no longer necessary to have sandpaper upon which to rub it. It would ignite when rubbed on any dry surface, and there was no longer any sputtering. This was the phosphorus match, the match with which we are so familiar. In the last paragraph, what is the main point of the section that discusses the chemicals involved in match making? To explain how matches work To explain the benefits of phosphorus To explain why early attempts failed To explain what was wrong with antimony
Answer: I think it is to explain how matches work
Explanation: I took the test and got it incorrect with To explain why early attempts failed, and now that I read the question again, the paragraph explains what chemicals go into matches and how it has to be rubbed hard to work. Therefore, I believe it is To explain how matches work

Answer:Josie always liked visiting her grandmother in the countryside. But when her mother loses her job in the city and they're forced to relocate along with Josie's sister, Annie, she realizes she doesn't like the country that much. Especially because Grandma Jeannie has some strange rules: Don't bring any dolls into the house. And never, ever go near the house in the woods behind their yard. Soon though, Josie manages to make friends with the most popular girl in the sixth grade, Vanessa. When Vanessa eventually invites Josie back to her house to hang out, Josie doesn't question it. Not even when Vanessa takes her into the woods, and down an old dirt road, toward the very house Grandma Jeannie had warned her about.
As Josie gets caught up in her illicit friendship with Vanessa, Annie is caught in the crossfire. What follows is a chilling tale of dark magic, friendship, and some very creepy dolls.

Answer:
The beaches I visited in Aruba had the same clear turquoise water that I had seen in the brochures.
Explanation:
A relative clause, or adjective clause, is a group words that has a subject and a verb. It functions like an adjective would, offering information about a noun in the sentence. This type of clause starts with a relative pronoun or a relative adverb (who, whom, that, which, when, etc.)
When we have two sentences that mention the same thing or person, we can often change one of the sentences into a relative clause. To do so, we add the relative pronoun and drop anything that is repetitive. Let's do that to the sentences that were provided in the question:
1. The beaches I visited in Aruba had clear turquoise water.
2. I'd seen the same clear turquoise water in the brochures.
Combined sentence: The beaches I visited in Aruba had the same clear turquoise water that I had seen in the brochures.
We did not need to repeat "clear turquoise water." We combined the sentences by transforming sentence 2 into a relative clause.
