Your Vision for Social Change
Given everything that has happened in our country
and in our neighborhoods and our schools, what is
your vision of the future?

Answers

Answer 1
My vision of the future is not a utopia. Especially considering the detrimental events that have gone on in this era, a utopia could be a viable option, but a utopia is really a dystopia in disguise. I want to see a future that continues today’s activism and fully integrates everyone and where anyone can TRULY become what they want to be. And where everyone will be accepted for who they are. Also, when people will REALLY be treated equally and with dignity. A day where police brutality will cease to exist, where racism will disappear, homophobia, xenophobia, and ICE will be a thing of the past. Those days will truly fulfill my dreams and my idea of a future.

The most important members of this community were found outside the hierarchy of the church government in the monasteries that dotted Europe.

Although Native American activists did not achieve their primary goals, in what ways was this a success?

Answers

Answer:

It successfully changed the perception of the Native Americans in the eyes of fellow Americans.

Explanation:

American Indian Movement is essentially a long-established Native American organization in the United States, which draws focus on the exploitation of Native Americans and to provide them with much better security as well as treatment. It aims for Native Americans to reinvent their traditional cultures, economic freedom, and quality education. The native Americans have enjoyed better living conditions and witnessed improved employment opportunities as a result of the movement.

In state after state, they challenged treaty violations, and in 1967 won the first of many victories guaranteeing long-abused land and water rights. The American Indian Movement (AIM), founded in 1968, helped channel government funds to Indian-controlled organizations and assisted neglected Indians in the cities. Which of the following was an effect of the Cold War arms race between the
Soviet Union and the United States?
O A. Economic regulation in both nations increased.
B. Governments invested greatly in scientific research.
O C. Both nations expanded their colonial empires.
O D. Fewer civil wars occurred worldwide.

Answers

Answer:

B

Explanation:

The arms race was a de facto competition between the USSR and the USA to see which country was better developed, which country had more / better nuclear weapons as a result of tensions from after WWII.

Both governments invested in scientific research into how to create better nuclear weapons: bombs that were more powerful than the other, as a way to try and win the nuclear arms race, or at least get ahead.

I think this is what the question is asking :)

The effect of the Cold War arms race between the Soviet Union and the United States was that the governments invested greatly in scientific research. Thus option (B) is correct.

Explanation:

You have to join the military to recieve military training.

Most public transportation (which is commonly found only in cities) such as subways, buses, or trams, costs money, so it isn't necessarily provided for all citizens.

We have thousands of homeless throughout the united states, evidently housing is not a luxury provided for all.

Some level of public education is provided for all US children, at least for grades K-12. Children attend for free, and almost all services that need to be paid are either optional, or a child can receive the service for free.

Democrats who opposed the war argued that the Great Society was being choked off by expenditure on the Vietnam War. Many of the programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, the Older Americans Act, and federal education financing, are still in existence today, despite the fact that some of them have been discontinued or had their funding cut.

What is one way that “The Maori: Genealogies and Origins in New Zealand” contrasts with “The Raven and the First Men: The Beginnings of the Haida”? The Maori myth features courage, but the Haida myth does not. The Maori myth features community, but the Haida myth does not. The Maori myth features the gods, but the Haida myth does not. The Maori myth features deception, but the Haida myth does not.

Answers

Answer:

The Maori myth features courage, but the Haida myth does not.

Explanation:

In "The Maori: Genealogies and Origins in New Zealand", the myth presents the Maori people as someone who is in control of their land and knows their abilities. The statement that "Tû opened his mouth and ate his brothers to punish them for their cowardice" seems to signify that the Maori ancestors were brave and were fierce warriors. Moreover, the narrator continues "Tû's descendants became the Mâori, the humans who are able to master anything that they decide to conquer: the forest, the sea, the food, and the earth".

Meanwhile, "The Raven and the First Men: The Beginnings of the Haida" does not necessarily include passages that seem to show the courage or bravery of the Haida people. Rather, it presents Raven playing a trick on the Sky-Chief and also mentions that the people have plenty of food and water. So, it may be that they need no such courage to defend look/ fight for their requirements.

Thus, one contrasting thing between the two texts is that while the Maori myth features courageous acts, the Haida myth has no such feature.

"The Maori myth features courage, but the Haida myth does not."

This is true because the Maori people value courage and strength while the Haida people value that which encompasses physical and emotional needs.

archaeologists concentrate on the physical artifacts of ancient people, while anthropologists study a wider range of human cultures and behaviors.
archaeologists search for and excavate the artifacts of ancient people, while anthropologists interpret the findings of archaeologists.
archaeologists focus on artifacts of ancient people, while anthropologists study human remains of ancient people.

Answers

Answer:

Archaeologists concentrate on the physical artifacts of ancient people, while anthropologists study a wider range of human cultures and behaviors.

Explanation:

Archaeology is the study of the remains of ancient or past humans through the excavation of past residences. Anthropology is the study of humans and their history, focusing on the behavior and societal structures. Quite put simply, archaeology is a branch/ field of study within anthropology.

These two branches of study work within the same purpose of working on understanding human history through the artifacts and other ancient sources discovered. But the main difference between them would be to focus on their respective focus of study. While archaeologists concentrate on studying the physical artifacts of human beings, anthropology casts a wider net in studying the cultures, behaviors, and society of the humans in the past.

Thus, the correct answer will be the second option.

The answer would definitely be option b. It is correct because the archaeologists dig to find the remains of people and anthropologists study behaviors and cultures.

how does water affect places in its gas liquid and solid states

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Liquid state: Water is unique because it is the only natural substance that can exist in all three states of matter at the temperatures normally found on Earth! Water is usually a liquid, but when it reaches to 32° Fahrenheit (F), it freezes into ice. (Ice is the solid state of water.) When water reaches 212° F, it boils. When it begins to boil, some of the water turns into steam. (Steam is the gas state of water, and is also called water vapor.) When steam comes into contact with cool air (which reduces energy), it can condense back into water

solid state: Normally, when water reaches 32° F it begins to freeze. As you learned in the super-cooled water experiment, water needs a nucleation site, or a spot for the first ice crystals to form. When there isn't one, water can reach a temperature below the freezing point without turning into ice. When that happens, the water is said to be super-cooled. Can you think of any other ways to keep water from freezing when temperatures are below freezing? Salt lowers the freezing point of water
