Basketball is a sport played on a rectangular court by two teams of five players each, usually indoors.

I seemed to watch myself go up effortlessly for the basket, and saw the ball drop through the net.

I had done it, though I could not explain it.

It was a jump-shot, and my hand flicked at the basket.

Swish! I saw hands that were too small for the game, hands

that were unblistered, coffee-colored,and wrinkled, and that belonged to me.

The skin around the knuckles had been broken by a tooth or a fingernail... not my own, but not really his either.

Possession is a dubious affair without resonance in this heavy air.

The body that raised itself toward its ringed-empty goal belonged to no one there while it hung in the air of the gym.

The muscles, the movements of wrist, finger, leg, and elbow were controlled, but not by me, not by him, but by a desire rooted in a steel hoop beyond the innocence of our accustomed matrix.

Answer: I know that living there for a limited period of time would feel like we were going to stay there permanently because it didn’t feel like we were getting anywhere close to the house mom and dad told us we would have forever one day. Papa was always coming home late, he never had more than 20$ in his hand, mama would cook for us, but the food wasn’t enough to last me, my sister, and my brother for a day. I envied the kids in my neighborhood, every time I played with them, they would ask me where I lived,  I would hesitantly point “there”, the place that was supposed to be the house papa always talked about. I was ashamed when pointing “there”, because we probably had the ugliest house in the neighborhood. The other kid’s homes looked better than mine, fences looked larger, some had cars that could fit in the garage, but we had a car that wasn’t even ours yet. Every day felt like we’d spend more and more time in mango street and I started to lose hope, hope for the big white shiny house papa kept talking nonstop about, hope for a better neighborhood, and hope for more food for more than a week.

He thinks that the common men are easily swayed by flattery and that they are being hypocritical in their behavior.

2nd Question: Brutus seems to be conflicted about joining the conspiracy to assassinate Caesar. On the one hand, he loves Caesar and respects him greatly, but on the other hand, he fears that Caesar's ambition could lead to the downfall of the Roman Republic. Brutus is struggling with his conscience and trying to decide what is the right thing to do.

3rd Question: The director establishes a mood of foreboding and tension at the beginning of Act III by setting the scene in the Capitol, a place of great importance in Roman politics, and by having the conspirators enter the stage in a nervous and conspiratorial manner. The atmosphere is charged with a sense of danger and anticipation, as the audience knows that something significant is about to happen.

4th Question: Casca argues that they must convince Brutus to join their enterprise because he is well-respected by the people of Rome and his involvement would lend legitimacy to their cause. Casca thinks that Brutus's reputation for honor and integrity would make the public more sympathetic to their cause, and that without his support, they would be seen as merely a group of conspirators acting out of self-interest.
