Answer:
Thousands of Jewish children survived this brutal carnage, however, many because they were hidden. With identities disguised, and often physically concealed from the outside world, these youngsters faced constant fear, dilemmas, and danger. Theirs was a life in shadows, where a careless remark, a denunciation, or the murmurings of inquisitive neighbors could lead to discovery and death. The Nazis advocated killing children of “unwanted” or “dangerous” groups either as part of the “racial struggle” or as a measure of preventative security. The Germans and their collaborators killed children for these ideological reasons and in retaliation for real or alleged partisan attacks.

Why was fitness stressed in physical education programs
in the early 1900's, 1930
's. 1950's, and 1960's?
Answer:From the late 1700s to the mid-1800s, three nations–Germany, Sweden, and England–influenced the early development of physical education in the United States. German immigrants introduced the Turner Societies, which advocated a system of gymnastics training that utilized heavy apparatus (e.g., side horse, parallel and horizontal bars) in the pursuit of fitness. In contrast, the Swedish system of exercise promoted health through the performance of a series of prescribed movement patterns with light apparatus (e.g., wands, climbing ropes). The English brought sports and games to America with a system that stressed moral development through participation in physical activities. The influence of these three nations laid the foundation for sport and physical education in America.
The 1800s were an important time for the inclusion of physical education in schools across America. The Round Hill School, a private school established in 1823 in Northampton, Massachusetts, was the first to include physical education as an integral part of the curriculum. In 1824 Catherine Beecher, founder of the Hartford Female Seminary, included calisthenics in her school's curriculum and "was the first American to design a program of exercise for American children" (Lumpkin, p. 202). She also advocated the inclusion of daily physical education in public schools. However, physical education was not offered in the public schools until 1855, when Cincinnati, Ohio, became the first city school system to offer this type of program to children.

It's D. There were no islands of any consequence in Europe except Sicily. Europe was a different kind of war that that of the Pacific.
Europe was a war fought by the army in Russia and the Air force (mainly) in Great Britain.
The war in the Pacific, on the other hand, was really a war fought by the Navy. Island hoping was how the Marines fought with the Navy to defeat Japan. The Pacific War had as many strategic considerations as the the War in Europe, but the main one had to do with the ships and air craft carriers on both sides. It was a brutal slow process: the Japanese could not believe that the Americans could develop the necessary fighting spirit and discipline possessed by the Japanese. They were wrong on both counts. America fought the war by Island hoping taking back each of the islands the Japanese had conquered during or before WWII.

How did Hitler end the Great Depression in Germany? How does this connect to the
strategy of the United States to combat the depression?
Answer:
The stock market crash on October 24, 1929, marked the beginning of the Great Depression in the United States. The day became known as "Black Thursday," Many factors had led to that moment. World War I, changing American ideas of debt and consumption, and an unregulated stock market all played pivotal roles in the economic collapse.
Explanation:
World War I transformed the United States from a relatively small player on the international stage into a center of global finance. American industry had supported the Allied war effort, resulting in a massive influx of cash into the US economy. As the war interrupted existing global trade relationships, the United States stepped in as the main supplier of goods, including weapons and ammunition. These purchases left European countries deeply in debt to the United States.
After the war, the United States began a period of diplomatic isolation. It enacted and raised tariffs in 1921 and 1922 to bolster American industry and keep foreign products out.
In the 1920s (the “Roaring Twenties”) many American consumers, assuming economic prosperity would continue indefinitely, took on large amounts of personal debt, sometimes at extremely high interest rates. Factories depended on these consumers continuing to purchase their goods.
Finally, the stock market, based on Wall Street in New York City, was loosely regulated. There were few rules to ensure invested money was safe. Speculators began to deliberately manipulate stock prices, buying and selling in order to increase their returns. Only a small number of Americans purchased stock directly, most believing that the market values would continue to increase. Many investors, comfortable with debt, bought stocks “on the margin,” using a small personal investment to pay a portion of the actual share value while borrowing the rest from a bank or other lender. They assumed the stock price would rise and they would be able to repay the balance of the loan from their investment profits. This system worked well, until the stock decreased in value.
what influenced the way of life for both northwest coast Indians and plateau Indians?
Answer:
i do'nt know
Explanation:
Both Northwest Coast Indians and Plateau Indians were influenced by several factors that shaped their way of life. Here are some common influences:
Geography and Environment: The geographical location and environment played a significant role in shaping the way of life for both groups. The Northwest Coast Indians inhabited the coastal areas of the Pacific Northwest, rich in marine resources, including fish, shellfish, and marine mammals. The Plateau Indians, on the other hand, lived in the inland plateau region characterized by rivers, forests, and abundant wildlife. The availability of natural resources influenced their subsistence patterns, housing styles, and cultural practices.
Natural Resources and Subsistence: Both groups relied heavily on natural resources for their subsistence. The Northwest Coast Indians engaged in fishing, hunting, and gathering, with a strong emphasis on salmon fishing. They also harvested shellfish, seaweed, and other coastal resources. The Plateau Indians practiced a combination of hunting, fishing, gathering, and some limited agriculture. They relied on salmon runs, game animals, roots, berries, and other plant resources for sustenance.
Potlatch and Gift-Giving: The practice of potlatch, a ceremonial event involving elaborate feasting, gift-giving, and social exchange, was a significant cultural feature shared by both groups. Potlatches served various purposes, including social and political status display, wealth redistribution, and the reinforcement of kinship ties. Potlatches were a crucial aspect of their social and economic systems.
Artistic Expressions: Both Northwest Coast Indians and Plateau Indians were renowned for their rich artistic traditions. They created elaborate and intricate carvings, masks, totem poles, basketry, and other forms of artistic expressions. Art played a significant role in cultural and ceremonial practices, conveying stories, beliefs, and social status.
Trade and Exchange: Both groups engaged in extensive trade and exchange networks with neighboring tribes and distant groups. The Northwest Coast Indians were known for their sophisticated maritime trading networks, facilitated by their abundant resources and seafaring skills. The Plateau Indians participated in trade networks that connected them with coastal tribes for items such as shells, obsidian, and other goods.
Cultural Practices and Social Structure: Both groups had distinct cultural practices and social structures. They had kinship systems, clans, and hierarchical social organizations. Elders played important roles in decision-making and passing down cultural knowledge and traditions.

World War Two has been called "The Good War." Was it for the United States?
The term "The Good War" assumes that there is specifically a good side and a evil side. In a sense, it was a good war for the United States and her allies. The true democratic states were able to defeat the Fascist and Imperialistic countries of the Axis, and establish the noble ideals that founded the US to the world.
However, was it truly the "good war"? I would argue not. After all, the very ideals established by the US was forfeited within the United States. The Good War essentially established that the all people have the right to first their life, their freedom, their opinions, and then the defense of oneself. However, the US, the long-time champion of such beliefs, also dropped this belief in times of war, as the then-Democratic president Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, which, combined with the Orders leading up to it, removed their freedom to religion (First Amendment), their right to press and free speech (First Amendment), in the beginning, the force stay-at-home orders during the beginning of the war (Third Amendment), as well as the forced removal from their homes (Fourth Amendment). Quite frankly, the Democratic Party essentially treated those who were of Japanese descent as sub-human and sub-par, and that the only positive compared to that of the concentration camps ran by the Nazi's was that the US did not murder Japanese & German ancestry's, and slowly worked to improve the livelihoods of those who lived in these camps.
Again, this is definitely not taking away from the accomplishments that the US had achieved during this war. They, in a broad scheme of things, were able to beat back fascism, totalitarianism, extreme inhumane treatments, the guarantee of fair treatment of individual sovereign nations, and many other achievements. However, to only suggest that the US did positive things without shining some light to the negative is a faulty logic, and to suggest that WWII was simply "the good war" without allowing for further information would imply that the US (or Allies, in the grand scheme of things) was never in the wrong, and always in the right.
